Postcards: Doodled Hearts

the LAST art of 2016 ... doodled heart postcards.  Printed paper collage doodled with Indian ink pens, metallic gel pens and a paint pen.

and ... the FIRST art of 2017.  One more doodled hearts postcard:

I think this was the first time I picked up a pen since last October ... I doodled this yesterday.

Funny thing, I dated the front 2014 - I guess my brain still hasn't realized that it is 2015.  Hoping things get better.

Doodled Postcard

Doodling patterns is just so darn relaxing.  Here is another of my recently doodled postcards.  Indian ink pens on 6" x 4" card stock.  Sent to one of my "art buddies".

Another Valentine Postcard

I am making Valentine post cards to trade with friends.  Here is my second: more doodled hearts.

This is how it looked before I used black pens to doodle over top of the color.

I started with just random colors in loose doodles to fill the 4" x 6" card.

Then I came back with black ink pens and started to fill in the shapes with random doodles.

Hopefully this will add a bit of brightness to someone's day!

Valentine Post Cards

I am making Valentine post cards to trade with friends.  Here is my first: a fabulous doodled heart.

I really enjoy doodling random patterns.  I find it a great way to relax my brain.

This post card was drawn with Faber Castell Indian ink pens.

I started with a variety of colored brush tip pens and made loose doodles to fill up the 4" x 6" card.  I didn't plan, I just doodled.

Then I came back with black ink pens and started to fill in the shapes with random doodles.

I finished with an opaque silver metallic Sharpie (love it!) to add a little "pop" to the border around the heart and added dots in the thick lined heart border.

Fun and Easy!
