More March Madness : Stained Glass ATCs

I continue to participate in the March Madness Challenge at ATCsForAll.com.  I made a few stained glass cards with Indian ink pens and colored pencils.

This is a technique that I used many years ago to make these ATCs (some of my favorites):

March Madness Challenge

I decided to participate in the March Madness Challenge at ATCsforALL.com.  It is a challenge for each day of March, in which you are given a prompt to create a piece of art with the given theme.  I jumped in late - but I am having fun with the challenge, anyhow.  Both pieces featured here are ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), which are 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches in size.

Day 12: WOOD : "Tiki"

I love Tikis, totems, and carved wooden masks!
Here is my wooden Tiki drawn with Indian ink pens
and colored with a mix of colored pencils and Indian ink pens.

Day 11: WIND : "Still"
Watercolor pencils used for the background,
then drawn over with black Indian ink pen.
Coated with multiple layers of clear gloss varnish.

I don't know how many of the 31 challenges I will have time to complete ... but it is always good to try new things and take a little time out to make some art.

Skeleton Saga: (my new neighbors)

I first noticed the skeletons hanging out on their screened porch at the end of September.   I snapped this photo during the first week of October, while they were doing stretches and getting limbered up.

When I happened by in mid-October, I caught this unusual sight.  It appears that skeleton2 had performed some type of prank on skeleton1, giving him an extra head.  Now skeleton2 seems to be bored by the whole thing.

As revenge for the prank, skeleton1 tossed skeleton2 into the spider web.   More to come?  Maybe.

(The little commenter is one of my hand made skeleton finger puppets.)

Another postcard I made for a swap.  Trick or Treat!  This one has a little pop out witch which is triggered by opening the door.  Drawn with ink and colored pencils. The candy bowl has a splash of multi-colored glitter glue.

I happened to catch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" the other day. I hadn't seen it for several years. As always, it brought back some childhood memories. I went to the L5P Halloween Festival today.  Fun, Zestos Ice Cream, lots of walking ... I didn't take many photos, but did take some shots of these store windows:

I was going to post something about The Walking Dead ... but ya' know mummies are walking dead, too.

Anyhow, I did grab a Walking Dead Scratcher last week:

The commercial advertisement for the tickets is pretty funny.  The girl breaks off a walker's finger to use to scratch off her ticket.  hee-hee.

I am enjoying the new season of "The Walking Dead"...
