Mostly cut & paste with a bit of doodling and stamping mixed in. Some of the word groupings are intentional, some random.
For some crazy reason, I am drawn to read the words on the page over & over again. Hmmm ...
Oh yeah, and 0 4 5 9 are the only four letter numbers. Oddly, there are four of them. Maybe they would be good Pick-4 numbers to play.

Junk Mail Journal Page
Awhile back I made this little art journal from my junk mail. I gathered all the little postcards and cardstock weight ads that collected near my computer, cut the larger ones down to size, and punched and bound them into a little book.
This page is my most recent & is made up of collage, paint and doodles. All of the text was cut from junk mail. The doodles were drawn on the pattern side of security envelopes from junk mail. The page itself started out as a sales postcard.
More of my junk mail journal can be seen here: http://www.hobbyloco.com/gallery/posts/junk-mail-journal/

WTJ: Stain Log
An odd experiment.
This page includes the following stains: chocolate syrup, blueberry, green colored sugar, iodine, cherry popsicle, grape jelly, tangerine fruit bar, cinnamon, vanilla shimmer shower gel, ink, Heinz ketchup, grape popsicle, mustard, coffee, nail polish, and some candy Halloween sprinkles.
Iodine is my favorite. It was black when I stained the page & every day it gets just a bit lighter.
I sealed the sticky stains with a clear acrylic coat.

Something Old
I posted some old pages from my sketchbook to an art group the other day & folks seemed to get a kick out of them.
The sketchbook is a big black hardcover book that I kept blank for years because I didn't want to "mess it up". I guess I was waiting until I had some divine inspiration.
One day I picked it up & thought it might stay blank forever, so I just started putting in random doodles, recipes, stickers, clippings, paintings, etc... I often draw comic characters that I find interesting, so you may recognize a familiar face or two.
Sometimes a page is completed over a period of several years. I don't plan the pages, I just work as I feel inspired.

WTJ: Color Outside Of The Lines
... and that is exactly what I did - using randomly selected colored pencils.
I think the point of the exercise was to be sloppy on purpose. Oops! Here I am still being neat about it. However, I did follow the directions.
I am starting off pretty easy here. I think I will progress into the more destructive stuff later.

WTJ: The Beginning
I just picked up my very own copy of Wreck This Journal.
I know that I am in for an unusual journey, so I am going to document my progress through the journal here.
If you are not familiar with the book, read some of the reviews at Amazon or check out this Flicker group or visit http://www.wreckthisjournal.com/.
